2 volumes, each 20 1/4 x 16 5/8 x 1 1/4 inches
40 pages each volume, approximately 320-385 images in total.

Subject: Egyptian street scenes, landscapes, ruins, monuments, and art.

Black cloth hardcover, stamped with “1” and “2” in gold on spine. Signature sewn onto hinges that allow the book to open flat, black headbands, the interior of the front cover and first page, and the interior of the back cover and last page are double-page bleeds that serve as endpapers. Both volumes consist of many edge-trimmed and collaged double-weight prints of various sizes, tones, and surfaces backed with other prints. Some pages are single images, some are double-page spreads, and some are multiple-page collages. All pages are full bleeds. All are from 35mm negatives on various films (Kodak Tech-pan, Tri-X, and Recording Film). Unsigned, undated.

The images are selected from three trips made to Egypt: one in December 1974 - January 1975, one in summer 1978 or 1979, and one in 1986.

The photographs are sequenced in a way that loosely follows a typical tour of the country. Volume 1 is concerned with Lower Egypt, Cairo, and the Old Kingdom. Volume 2 is concerned with Upper Egypt, Luxor, and the New Kingdom.
